Onboarding, SOP explanations, customer tutorials: everyone agrees these videos should exist, and they stall on "who films it, where, and who presents". AI video production removes the filming step, but not every training topic suits it. Sort the content first, then decide the approach.
Content that suits AI video
- Concept explanations: what information security is, why quality control matters, how the company's service works. Scenes and icons carry it.
- Process overviews: the steps a customer goes through from order to delivery, told with illustrative shots.
- Policy communication: workplace safety, privacy, codes of conduct; content that's updated regularly, where an AI version is quick to revise.
- Scenario cases: handling a complaint, what to do in a given situation, acted out by generated characters.
Content that doesn't
- Software operation: which button, which menu. This needs real screen recordings.
- Machine operation and hand skills: assembly, repair, cooking technique. Generated motion details are unreliable and can teach the wrong thing.
- Anything requiring the real product's details, such as pointing out a specific part.
- Content that relies on a particular instructor: a course by a specific teacher still carries better as a real person.
The usual answer: mix them
In practice it's rarely all AI or all filmed. A common combination:
- The introduction and concept sections in AI visuals.
- Operating steps as screen recordings or phone footage.
- One narration voice throughout, AI or human; see voice-over and subtitles for AI videos.
- One subtitle style throughout.
Filming drops to a minimum without sacrificing accuracy where it matters.
Writing the script
- One video, one topic. Over five minutes, split it in two.
- For each segment: the seconds, whether it's AI or filmed, and the narration.
- Lead concept segments with a concrete example, not just a definition.
- End with a summary card, for quick review.
