Anyone running ads knows that changing the opening of the same product video can move the click-through rate a lot. Multiple versions with real filming means multiple shoots; with AI video production, the same script can be given different visuals and different messages to produce several versions for testing. Here's how to plan it, and what it can't do.
Decide what to test first
Change one variable at a time, so you know what caused the difference:
- The opening: a product close-up, a lifestyle scene, or a question in the first three seconds.
- The message: saves time, saves money, or peace of mind.
- The visual style: bright and clean, warm and homely, or high-tech.
- The call to action: "Buy now", "Learn more", "Message us for an offer".
Start with the opening. It usually has the biggest effect on performance, and only the first few seconds change.
What to prepare for several versions
- One master script, marking which parts stay fixed and which change.
- A clear note per version, for example "Version A opening: close-up of the product on a table; Version B opening: someone struggling in the kitchen".
- Shared assets all at once: logo, product photos, brand colours, subtitle text. See what to provide so AI video matches your brand.
- The aspect ratio and length for each version.
Shared sections are produced once, so three versions aren't three times the work, but they aren't one times either. The quote lists them separately.
The limits of AI video in advertising
- Real product accuracy: generated product details may differ from the real thing. For a physical product, we recommend compositing real product photos or clips into the video.
- Character consistency: the same character may look different from shot to shot.
- Platform rules: some ad platforms require labelling AI-generated content, especially realistic people.
- What can't be claimed: medical effects, investment returns and other regulated claims can't be exaggerated, filmed or generated.

Reading the results
We make the videos; running the campaign and analysing the numbers is for you or your agency. Two reminders: a test with a small budget or a short run may show differences that are only noise; and when one version wins, build the next round on it and change one more variable.
Frequently asked questions
Can the winning version be remade with real filming?
Yes, that's a common path: test the direction with AI versions, then invest in a shoot once it's proven.
How do revisions work across versions?
Each version includes one round of minor revisions, per the quote. Changes to shared sections apply to all versions.
Can you make just the three-second openings and we edit the rest?
Yes. Tell us the specs you need and we export the segments.
