What to Prepare for a Corporate Video: a Checklist Before You Hand Over

Many companies want a corporate video but get stuck on "what do we give the editor?". This page lists what to prepare. The more complete it is, the faster we can assess and quote, and the less back-and-forth there is.

Must have

  • A written description of the company or product: one paragraph on what you do, for whom, and what makes you different. This is the basis of the script.
  • Purpose and platform: website, trade show, presentations, social media, paid ads. The use decides length and aspect ratio.
  • Logo files: transparent PNG or vector (AI, SVG), not a screenshot.
  • Brand colors and fonts: brand guidelines are ideal; otherwise the colors you usually use.
  • Contact details and call to action: website, LINE, phone or QR code for the ending.

Nice to have

  • Photos and video: office, products, team, events. Phone footage is fine.
  • Reference videos: two or three links that feel right, more precise than words.
  • Voice-over or subtitle text: if you already know what you want to say, write it down.
  • Existing presentations or brochures: they often contain charts and phrasing we can use directly.

No footage?

It can still be done. A written script with AI-generated visuals and professional post-production makes an explainer or brand video, and a few real photos can be mixed with the AI visuals. See AI video production.

How to hand it over

Put everything in one Google Drive folder, name the files in order, set it to "Anyone with the link: Viewer" and send us the link. See how to send footage.

Frequently asked questions

We only have the logo from our website, not the original file.

We can start with it, but a low-resolution logo looks blurry when enlarged. Ask whoever designed it for the original, or send the highest-resolution version you have.

We have lots of messy footage. Should we select first?

Do one pass: delete the obvious rejects and mark what must be used. How organized it is affects the assessment and the quote. See the footage preparation checklist.
